Message: Hi Guys

I have issues with the tnsping and the listener, the tnsping is very slow. It takes 199790 msec to resolve and when I check the lsnrctl it does hang.

What is strange to me is after the listener restarts things look ok.

I know this issue has been raised a lot...

But I have not found an article that is helping me so far...

Please Help!!!

Thanks in advance...

When tnsping is long the first thing to test is ping to check if it is a network and an OS issue.

Message: I think the O/S is very busy and the tablespace extents might be the cause of the problem. My tablespaces are on auto extensible and the extent value was too small.

I tried to reduce the number of calls that are made to the O/S from the database when extending the tablespace. I increased the extent values

Now, things look bit better.
