Message: Dear All:

We like to integrate the window LDAP to a new oracle database for user authentication. For example, this is a new test database and we don't have any users created. Now we like to figure out if we created the users with same id as in LDAP userid, how they can be authenticated externally by LDAP. I read and heard some info on OID provided by oracle but need some more step by step info to experiment.

Please Advise.

Thanks.

As I said you in the other forum you posted this question at:

This is a very difficult issue.
I advise you to contact Oracle and get a consultant for 5 days (this is a maximum, he should be able to do it in 2 days if you have nothing specific) to make your environment work otherwise you will waste your time to come nowhere.

Regards
Michel

Message: Michel,

Thanks for the quick response. Just need some clarification. Is it that troublesome or some hidden code that Oracle consultant would only implement it. I deeply value your comments as always and they are indeed practical.

Thanks.

It is just very difficult to do it alone the first time and, indeed, maybe you'll need some patches because of some specificities in your environment and you can only do it with an Oracle consultant.
