Os info: Linux
Oracle info: 11.2.0.2
Error info: ORA-01031: insufficient privileges
Message: Hi All,

I am unable to switch logfile from sys but from sytem. While trying to switch logfile from sys getting the below error.

sqlplus '/as sysdba'
SQL> alter system switch logfile;
alter system switch logfile
*
ERROR at line 1:
ORA-01031: insufficient privileges

Could not find the cause of the issue. Please help on this.
Note: Database Vault is configured.

Note: Database Vault is configured.

This is not a note this is a the main point.
SYSDBA can't do this, this is a key point of database vault: separation of duties.

Note: you should not do it with SYS in normal database.
