Message: Depends on your requirements of the snapshot standby database. Do you have a requirement to restore to a point in time in the snapshot standby database? That is truly the only reason that I can think of that you would need the archives. If you don't need to do a PITR on the snapshot standby then I would think it was safe to delete the archives.

Tim

Message: Hi Tim ,

Thanks a lot for your reply.
I want to restore the snapshot standby to the time when recovery is cancelled in Physical standby.

Using the below command

ALTER DATABASE CONVERT TO PHYSICAL STANDBY;

So I think I don't need archives generated from snapshot standby after it was open in ReadWrite Mode.

Thanks
Saumya

Are all of these archivelogs generated from redo on the snapshot standby? Or are some of them shipped from the primary?

Because you'll need the second type to recover the standby after converting it back to physical standby.

Message: Hi Jan ,

Thanks for the response.
all of these archivelogs deleted are generated from redo on the snapshot standby.

The Archives shipped from Primary are intact and safe.

Is there any way to test whether the snapshot standby can be flashbacked without doing the flashback.

Just we do in RMAN using validate command without doing restore.

Thanks
Saumya
