Message: BTW, by default I have a default port 1521 on TESTDB1. I need each DB have a different port assigned. Like the list belows;

TESTDB1 = 1521
TESTDB2 = 1522
TESTDB3 = 1543

Message: Hello Ferdie,

you have to declare three different listeners in listener.ora (listener_db1, listener_db2, listener_db3), each with its own port.

Important: you should not use the default port 1521 otherwise the two other databases will anyway register themselves with the listener on 1521, thing that I guess you don't want.

I suppose that your goal is to be able to switch on/off one or more listeners separately to allow access to 1, 2 or the 3 databases... Note that if this is the reason, you can also have a single listener on 1521 but stop/start the services used to connect to the databases (and you can even define several services running against a single database, for example to segregate subsets of users)

Best regards,

Bruno Vroman.

Message: Hi Bruno,

Thanks for the quick response on my query. By the way, do you have a procedure on this. Or do I need to do this dynamically or using netca?

Thanks in advance.

Another question? - Who will create the listener, it is the ASM or the INSTANCE user?

Thank you.

Log in as the Grid Infrastructure owner to execute srvctl add listener and use the GRID_HOME, not the RDBMS_HOME.

It's possible to create listener from RDBMS ORACLE_HOMEs, but the reccommended way is to use the Grid Infrastructure.

Jan

Message: Hi Ferdie,

I'm pretty sure (I checked) that I didn't write "execute srvctl add mgmtlsnr" but "execute srvctl add listener"

Also, the link I posted is explicitly for that command, that page does not tell you to execute "srvctl add mgmtlsnr".

SCAN-listeners and management listeners are not the droids you are looking for.

Also: you already added ports to your SCAN-Listeners. That's already completely useless. You will not be able to direct the SCAN listeners to allow connections to a database only via one of these ports. In fact, by letting the SCAN listeners listen to all ports, the SCAN-listeners will redirect any incoming connects on any of these ports to whichever port the requested service runs on.

As Bruno told you: rethink your setup, stop using multiple ports, use one or more Workload Management Services configured via srvctl add service.

Jan

Message: Ho Jan,

Thank you very much for the excellent helps it works well.

The solution:

/etc/hosts
# scan ip
192.149.1.8 uat1_ip_scan
192.149.1.9 uat1_ip_scan
192.149.1.10 uat1_ip_scan

+ASM

SQL> alter system set remote_listener='uat1_ip_scan:1543';
commit;

And then do the rest of the port, I test it work well.

even with a night of thinking about this, I don't really know what to say. Your written english is so good, that I cannot believe you didn't understand what Bruno and I wrote. Yet you keep doing something completely different.

Whatever you did there, does not look like a solution to the problem you originally posted.
