Os info: Linux x86 64bit
Oracle info: 12c and higher
Error info: ORA-04031
Message: Hi,

The ORA-04031 indicates a shortage of shared momory.
Classically, we would increase the Shared Pool. But increasing the Shared Pool means that we need to have this extra memory available.
But this could be caused by memory fragmentation.
Does someone know how to investigate Shared Pool Memory fragmentation?
How to reduce it except from flushing the SGA and resizing it with a lower value?

Thanks by advance for sharing your experience.

Kind Regards

Thanks! But I do not have access to MOS... I need to ask through a different department.
Does someone know if possible to find the diagnostic scripts somewhere?

Thanks and Regards

Message: Hi,

imho, if you need to ask through a different department, then you can as well ask *that* department do deal with ORA-4031. :-)

The link that I posted is just a pointer to *massive* amount of information (videos) regarding ORA-4031, your're good for a week of reading and studying!
It's not just some simple script that'll solve the problem for you...you have to get access to MOS.

Regards,
Ales
