Message: Hi,

I have found the following arctice regading "library cache lock cursor":
One of the cause mentioned is "Automatic Shared Memory Management".
Does someone encountered that situation, having to disable Automatic Shared Memory Management?
If yes, what is the mechanism behind?

Thanks and Regards

The most sophisticated way to let Oracle manage the instance memory is AMM (Automatic Memory Manegement).
AMM uses memory_target and memory_max_size.
Now there might be circumstances where you have to fall back to ASMM: Doc ID 1952395.1
ASMM uses sga_target and pga_aggregate_taget (don't set memory target).

So it's more like the other way around ;-)

Message: Hi Philip,

Thanks, I was aware of some possible situations as some sites do not use this feature.
But, what's the relation with the link you pointed out?

Kind Regards
