Hi everyone,
We are using dataguard on one of our factories and I have migrated all the databases located on the test servers there. It is quite simple : stop the dataguard broker and the dataguard configuration, migrate the primary database in a classical way, restart the broker and the configuration and then the standby database got migrated via log shipping. Quite easy. But we don't have the license for active dataguard, so the standby must only be in mount mode and not opened. We used to use a hidden paramter (_query_on_physical = false) in order to prevent the database to open, and it worked ... but it is no more advised by the MOS support.
So easy question : in a windows environment, do you know some tricks (other than using a batch script) in order to start a database service and that the database is just mounted and not opened ? This will be used in case of server patching, when the server is restarted, databases are restarted as well but without the parameter, they are opened ...
I hope I was clear enough :)
Regards,
Joel |
