Hi Team,
What is this "Database Resource Limits" section in AWR represent?
Database Resource Limits
Begin End
CPUs: 32 32
SGA Target: 0 0
PGA Target: 5,367,660,544 5,367,660,544
Memory Target 26,843,545,600 26,843,545,600
and why would the SGA Target value for begin and end be zero...?
Please help...
Thanks in advance...

Hi Phuti,
These parameters are important for the performance of your database.
The values are retrievable from your database: 'show param target'
The DBA can set the parameters when installing Oracle (defaults are always provided) and change them afterwards.
HTH, Philip

In addition, the begin and end are the values of these parameters at the beginning and end of the AWR period you consider.
sga_target may be 0 if you want to disable SGA autotuning but often DBAs let it to 0 when using memory_target which enables autotuning of the total SGA+PGAs.
Regards
Michel

Good morning,
Is using the AMM recommended or one should opt to use the sga_target and the pga_target instead of AMM?
What is the best practice, is it use the sga_target and pga_target or the AMM?
Thanks

This question would be worthy of a new thread.
As for myself, I like the simplicity of setting a memory_target and let Oracle take care or the rest. |
