Hi All,
How can i offload the RMAN backup to a local drive mounted . Also want this backup to go to tape for longer retention.

Hi Rim,
This would be more a Unix question than an Oracle one.
After mounting a local drive it is available in the file system (start with /). So you can use any of the following commands to transfer the file(s): cp, copy, mc, scp, tar, zip
After mounting a tape device the tar (tape archive) command would be preferable. Typically a tape device has several entries in the file system, with and without 'rewind' option. Use the 'man tar' command for more information.
